I don’t wear very much makeup on a daily basis. In fact, most days I only apply eyebrow gel, mascara and lipstick. If I’m feeling extra (or I have time in the morning), I might swipe on some eyeshadow. Given that my makeup routine is pretty minimal, I’ve given myself permission to splurge on really good products. Quality over quantity, right?
A few weeks back, something blew into my eye on my way to work and I had to take my makeup off when I got the office to get it out. Shockingly, the only makeup I carry in my makeup bag is lipstick, so I had to redo my eyes with whatever I had on my desk. That day it was Stowaway Cosmetics’ Waterproof Lengthening Mascara.
I’ll pause here and say that I am a mascara snob. My eye are pretty sensitive, so I’m super careful and cautious about what I put near them. If I’m honest, I didn’t have super high hopes for this tiny mascara. The mascara I normally use is $25; the Stowaway Cosmetics mascara is $9.
As I applied the mascara, my mind quickly changed. Like all Stowaway Cosmetics products, this mascara is small enough to easily fit in a clutch or wristlet, but the size shouldn’t fool you; it’s small but mighty! After just a few swipes my lashes looked, well, incredible. The brush bristles effectively gripped my very fine lashes and evenly distributed the mascara from root to tip. Here’s one eye with the mascara and one without:
Only wearing mascara and protecting my hair from the humidity, don’t judge me!
Pretty good, right?! And considering this mascara is less than $10 and can easily fit into your makeup bag or purse without taking up much space, it’s absolutely the mascara you should travel with. After that first time I used it, I immediately started carrying Stowaway’s Lengthening Mascara around with me for touch-ups. When I don’t have time to do my makeup before leaving the house, this is the one I use to make myself look presentable on the go. I love it and totally recommend you give it a try, even if you already have a mascara you love. At just $9, it’s really a bargain you shouldn’t pass up.
